Lately I’m Loving Luxury Leather Luggage

Luxury Leather Luggage - MARK / GIUSTI Capri Leather Pochette | Fashion Blog | Fashion Blogger | www.thebellenarrative.com

I’ve recently completed my professional training in makeup artistry, and I must say that the prospect of turning my hand to makeup is actually a very exciting one! But, not to fret, for my love of fashion remains equally as strong. Only now, the potential option of venturing down the route as makeup artist allows me all of the things that I love in life: fashion, beauty, trends, and travel. Additionally, freelance makeup artistry (should I ever choose this path) would grant me the adventurous and nomadic lifestyle I’ve always dreamed of having. Thankfully, makeup is portable, and can come with me wherever the road may take me next…

I begin my excursions by gathering some of my favorite cosmetics, such as my MAC strobe creams, Rimmel SunShimmers Bronzer, and of course some of my Nars Illuminators, but I need to make sure I have a place to store them. Luckily, there are many luxurious leather travel and cosmetic cases to choose from, making my life that much easier. Just like my constant need for a change of scenery, I am also constantly changing my fashion style, so here are a few of the most luxurious, fashionable, and portable pouches that fit all of my cosmetics and my style moods when I’m on the go.

For my more girly side, Proenza Schouler’s leather beauty case is a perfect match. With a zip around closure, the bag fits the majority of my cosmetics. With a great interior zip pocket within its jacquard interior lining, I can even stick in a few extra lipsticks for when I can’t decide. For my larger brushes and longer trips that require more items, however, I prefer Alexander McQueen’s De Manta Cosmetic Case. This case is fit to hold much more and also has a more versatile look. The black leather with fold down corners and double zip closure feeds into my more grungier looks, not to mention it seems to match everything.

A few things some people know about me is that I love all things from the past, including vintage fashion and movies. Which is why when MARK / GIUSTI came out with the “Capri” Leather Pochette (as pictured below) from the La Dolce Vita collection, a stylish collection inspired by Italian cinematography of the 1950s and 60s, I had to have one. I am fascinated with how people of the past used to carry themselves, including the way they dressed and spoke. The Capri is a luxurious leather accessory bag that embodies this sort of vintage fashion that I aspire to recreate in my everyday life. No matter wherever I may be rushing to next, I can just slip my hand through the outer strap and carry it while on the move. The bag is so chic, one would never know it’s filled with liquid liners! Another feature I love about the bag is the interior lining which is inspired by historical Italian artwork (you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful lining in the first picture). It's a really perfect bag for those occasions when I only have a few items to carry and do not need a big bag. I also like the fact that the design of the bag is suitable for both men and women.

So no matter what your profession is or where life may take you, one thing is for certain, and that is everyone deserves a little bit of leather luxury! So there you have it, you now know that luxury leather handbags are my current objects of desire.

A Classic Solution to a Modern Problem

Ask any woman off the street what her ‘go-to’ fashion accessory is, and I guarantee that a large portion will look to their handbags. Women and handbags go together like salt and pepper: a classic combination unlikely to be changed by time. In saying this, the modern world is a pretty harsh place… Everything is faster and more technological, and we are always looking for something to make our lives easier. So where do luxury leather handbags fit into this scenario?

The classic designs of such high-end brands as Smythson, Louis Vuitton and Chanel are effortlessly sleek and beautiful – one look at one of these can be enough to leave me swooning. However, very few luxury leather handbags on the market today cater specifically for the modern working woman. Whilst looking fashionable is important to me, so too is having accessories that are practical enough to accommodate my hectic lifestyle. It seems that few brands are willing to challenge this classic design – it is considered ‘timeless’, after all!

Or at least, that is what I had thought – until I came across luxury leather handbag by up-and-coming designer, Rosalina Nacken. Driven by her passion for bridging the perceived ‘gap’ between the masculine world of technology and the feminine world of fashion, the ‘Shelle’ bag (as below) is both functional and stylish. I love the way it effortlessly incorporates elements of this classic designer style, as well as offering practicality with its removable handle and exquisite leather tablet case. For multi-tasking women such as myself, this was perfect; the fact that it can be converted from elegant handbag to chic clutch, and simultaneously houses all my work essentials is perfect!

It seems that the classic women’s designer handbag has entered a new dimension, and I for one am excited. The Rosalina Nacken brand, representing the empowerment of women and embracing technology, is unique in its approach to handbag design. With its removable tablet case and ‘dual purpose’ nature, I love the modern twist it puts on a classic design. Travelling in style has never been easier; I for one know what will be on my next birthday gift list! Plus it's so ideal for blogging on the go in style.

A luxury handbag, clutch and tablet case all in one - who can resist! This handbag would make an absolutely lovely gift for someone, if you can bear to give it away that is! So what do you think ladies, is this not an incredibly chic way of carrying around our tablets?

My Holiday to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

Hello guys! As mentioned last post, I recently went on holiday to Egypt so thought that I would quickly share a few snaps with you and tell you a bit about the holiday. This was my first time visiting Egypt and I have to say that it is a really beautiful country. We stayed in the city of Sharm el Sheikh which is a perfect holiday destination because there's so much to see and do. For the bulk of the holiday I was happy simply messing about in the sea and lying on a sun lounger [I was in massive need of relaxation!], but for those of you who are more active then you’re spoilt for choice...Honestly there was so much to see and do: Lots of different types of water sports, horseback and camel riding, desert safaris, good nightlife and tons of great local attractions...the list is endless.

We went out and about quite a bit and did some touristy things, such as visiting Old Market in Sharm el Sheikh which is a typical Egyptian bazaar rich in culture and sights. Here are a few quick pictures from our Old Market visit:

Other stuff that we did:

A fun thing to do at night is to visit the Hollywood City Mall. Here you can see the awesome dancing fountain and an array of illuminated statues featuring everything from Disney characters to dinosaurs:

There were more photos but as it was so dark they didn't turn out, it was a nice post-dinner outing though.

About our hotel:

Our hotel was absolutely gorgeous with stunning surroundings. We had breathtaking views of the Red Sea coupled with the colourful Mount Sinai in the background as below:

It's so beautiful isn't it? These photographs have completely transported my mind back to Egypt...I just wish that I could transport myself back there in the physical!

The hotel had lots of little breakout areas as in the picture below where you could just relax, sit back and sip a cocktail all whilst soaking up all the beautiful scenery around you; I can imagine the atmosphere must being really lively during high season.

I spent most of the holiday at the beach. Rather conveniently the hotel had five different private beaches (of varying sizes) for us to choose from, and all had direct access to sea so you really couldn't ask for more. Here are some snaps:

Below: We spotted this gorgeous heron at the beach one day. Such a darling creature, I was worried about scaring it but it seemed to really like being around us:

Going to the beach was definitely my favourite part of the whole holiday. When I was in the sea I saw all sorts of tropical fish [like those in Finding Nemo!] swimming right beside me, it was so amazing! It was nice being so close to nature everyday...I really miss Egypt!

So all in all it was a fabulous holiday and great experience for my first visit to Egypt. I must give a special mention to the local people who were really lovely and friendly.

I hope that these pictures serve as a good distraction from the cold weather that we're experiencing lately...Yup, roll-on Summer!

Andrea Pompilio AW14 - Milan Men's Fashion Week AW14

Hi guys, thanks to everyone who commented on my post on London Collections: Men AW14. I can't believe how well received the post was amongst my fellow ladies, and it's really nice to hear that although most of you gals aren't really into men's fashion you still like to be aware of it and see what's going on. So today I’ve decided to bring you another helping of men’s fashion, this time around I wanted to pay homage to up-and-coming Italian fashion designer Andrea Pompilio, so come, let’s take a look at his Fall/Winter 2014 Menswear collection as showcased at Milan Men's Fashion Week AW14:

I have a penchant for pops of bright colour and clean lines, so of course naturally I was instantly drawn to Andrea Pompilio‘s AW14 collection, although what I love the most about Pompilio‘s AW14 collection is the nod to the ‘60s; more significantly, I love how the up-and-coming designer has effortlessly adapted the sleek, clean lines and simple well-tailored silhouettes of the mod era to produce an aesthetic pertinent to today’s stylish male. Yup this is 'modern mod' alright. I also like the military elements and the whole ‘Italian-tailoring-meets-street’ vibe that Pompilio has going on. I guess this is what happens when you mix high fashion with street style – it’s dapper, it’s fun and oh so very pleasing on the eye. Being a fan of the past, I’m going particularly gaga for the vintage silhouettes. I also love the fact that it looks like a lot of the garments could be suited to both genders, now being the type of gal who sometimes shops in the men's section, this sort of thing rarely slips my notice! I'm totally coveting the outerwear, the structured coats are just my kind of thing.

Overall the tailoring of the whole collection is superb, the nod to more vintage cuts tied in with sharp lines and bright pops of colour is ever so eye-catching.

So what do you think? Do you dig Andrea Pompilio‘s AW14 collection as much as I do?
