Bagsy Beauty | My Autumn Makeup Favourites

Ever since new British beauty brand Bagsy launched back in the summer, their products have become a staple feature in my makeup bag. I’m a great fan of Bagsy’s makeup since the textures are so lush and the colour-payoff is just fantastic. Plus everything has been designed to be perfectly portable, so their products are all handbag friendly (hence the “Bagsy” brand name I assume).

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Haircare Collection

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus haircare range | Shea Moisture

Shea Moisture is a hugely popular U.S beauty brand, and last week their haircare range launched in the UK at Boots. Previously the brand’s products were quite tricky to get hold of in the UK so their launch into Boots (selected stores nationwide and online) has been met with much excitement and delight – I can already foresee the brand doing really well over here in the UK.

Balance Me | Skincare Essentials for Radiant Skin

The four skincare products below from Balance Me are some of my favourites for prolonging a radiant glow post-summer - essential now that the warmer weather season is now drawing to a close!

Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm

I’ve been a cream cleanser girl for over a decade, but ever since discovering Balance Me’s Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm (the first ever cleansing balm that I tried!) I’m now firmly a “balm” girl. But why the sudden change you ask? What’s so wondrous about this cleansing balm?! Well it’s very simple, this cleansing balm effortlessly melts away every single trace of makeup leaving me with soft clean skin – and when I say “clean” I mean squeaky clean!! Plus as a regular natural product user I also really like the fact that this balm is 100% natural.

Philips Lumea Review

In the last few years you may have noticed the emergence of various home IPL hair removal devices. Excited about the prospect of having smooth silky legs on a long-term basis I was immediately interested in all these various home IPL systems that were popping up everywhere. However with a plethora of different home-based IPL devices to choose from I was a little stuck on which one to go for, but the one that stood out to me most was the Philips Lumea - especially as I kept seeing adverts of it all around the internet. Was this a sign/prompt for me to buy it? Possibly! So like any savvy consumer I went off and did a bit of background research into the device and discovered that over 10 years of extensive research had gone into it. So basically it was like a no-brainer for me to purchase it, especially as consumer reviews of this device were just glowing...and then off I went to buy myself a Philips Lumea!

Current Beauty Favourites

I thought I would share a few of my current beauty favourites with you today - check them out:

Nail HQ Strengthener

I don’t wear false nails so the Nail HQ Strengthener (yup as the name suggests it’s a nail strengthener) has been helping me get my natural nails all nice and ship shape. Now the problem that I have with my nails are that they grow to a lovely nice length then wham just break! Yup don’t you just hate it when that happens?! Luckily the Nail HQ Strengthener has made my nails noticeably stronger than before – yay!!

Nail HQ Nail Strengthener | Nail Strengtheners | UK Beauty Blog | Beauty Blog
Nail HQ Strengthener, RRP £6.99 | Link

Nail HQ Strengthener is described as “an intensive nail strengthening treatment with keratin & multi-fruit complex of alpha hydroxyl acids.” Once the product been applied and has dried your nails will be instantly harder and stronger. In fact thanks to Nail HQ Strengthener my nails are much stronger and don’t seem to break as much as they once did - good stuff!!

Overall this is a great product for people with weaker nails – I love it! You can snag yourself a bottle from Tesco and Amazon.

Hair Rehab London Syn One Piece

If you’re a fan of TOWIE’s Lauren Pope, or her gorgeous hair for that matter, then you may already have heard of her premium clip-in hair extension brand Hair Rehab London. Lately I’ve been really really loving their ‘Syn One-Piece’ clip-in hair piece:

Hair Rehab London | Syn One-Piece | UK Beauty Blogger
Hair Rehab London Syn One-Piece – in the shade Chocolate £34.99 | Link

Now first things first – this hair is majorly silky!!! I’m not sure if a picture can sum up just how luscious and silky this hair really, is but here you go anyway:

Hair Rehab London | Syn One-Piece | UK Beauty Blogger

…Hair so silky that you won’t be able to stop touching it – nor it seems will your siblings: My sister actually follows me around the house stroking my hair whenever I have this hair piece on – true story!!

The hair is synthetic which means that you can’t use heated appliances on it so I save this hair piece for days when I’ve had my hair blow-dried straight for a glammed up party look.

Hair Rehab London | Syn One-Piece | UK Beauty Blogger
The Syn One-Piece features four sturdy clips which you simply clip in amongst your own hair for instant volume and length. The length of the hair is approximately 20" which worn on me looks like this:

Hair Rehab London | Syn One-Piece | UK Beauty Blogger
In the picture above, since I wanted to give you a rough idea of the length, I’ve clipped my own hair up - thus all the hair that you see above is actually all the hair piece. Gorgeous isn’t it?! Basically if you’re looking for a great quality hair piece which serves as an instant volume and length booster then you should definitely look into the Syn One-Piece.

Overall I'm thoroughly impressed with the amazing quality of this hair piece and absolutely love the length! I can definitely see why the Hair Rehab London brand is so popular, especially with celebrities! You can visit them online at www.hairrehablondon.com.

The Wet Brush

Now one product which I’ve been hearing and seeing lots about on blogs lately is the Wet Brush, so naturally when I was given the chance to try it for myself I excitedly accepted…the curious side of me was dying to find out what it was about this hair brush that had earned it the title “America's No1 best selling brush.” Yes that’s quite an impressive statement isn’t?!

The Wet Brush | UK Beauty Blog | Beauty Blogger
The Wet Brush, £11.99 | Link

The Wet Brush can be used on wet or dry hair and works on extensions and wigs too, although I don’t really brush my hair when it’s wet so tend to use this on dry hair only. The Wet Brush is basically all about the bristles, as it’s the brush's special bristles that set it apart from other hair brushes. The bristles on the Wet Brush are thin and flexible so simply glide through the hair combing out tangles with ease, whilst the round soft tips on the ends of the bristles massage your scalp stimulating circulation at the follicle.

Right so my verdict: This brush definitely does what it says on the tin. It really does glide through tangles effortlessly, whilst the lovely bristles give your scalp a nice massage. Due to its special bristles, I feel as though the Wet Brush is much kinder to my hair than most other regular hair brushes which is why this is the only hair brush that I currently use. Overall: The Wet Brush definitely lives up to the hype!

The Wet Brush is available from Sally stores, sallyexpress.com, cultbeauty.co.uk and salons nationwide.

I hope you enjoyed my current beauty favourites. What do you think of the above products?

Lifestyle | All Things Healthy: Eat Natural & Aduna

Eat Natural Cereal Bars | The Belle Narrative Blog | lifestyle blog | lifestyle blogger | Health Blogger
I have been obsessed with all things healthy these past few months, so for today’s post I thought I’d share two great health-related brands with you:

...First off, an old favourite!

Eat Natural

The Eat Natural cereals and cereal bars and cereals are a somewhat of a kitchen cupboard staple in my household. All of their products are full of good wholesome ingredients such as oats, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, which you can enjoy with the peace of mind that there is not a preservative or artificial flavour in sight. When it comes to breakfast I like to opt for something healthy but quick and fuss-free, thus the Eat Natural cereals fit the bill perfectly. There are five different varieties and lately I’ve been reaching out for their gluten free toasted muesli with buckwheat:

Eat Natural gluten free toasted muesli with buckwheat | The Belle Narrative Blog | UK lifestyle blog | Healthy Blogger
This cereal contains a gluten free blend of toasted buckwheat and crisped rice with mixed seeds, dried fruit, coconut and a pinch of cinnamon. You don’t have to be gluten intolerant to enjoy it though! This crunchy, indulgent cereal is simply delicious and makes for a yummy way to start the day:

I’m also a big fan of the Eat Natural cereal bars as they’re a great healthy snack [well much healthier than a chocolate bar!] for popping into your handbag and taking on the go with you. The Eat Natural bars come in numerous different flavours (there are currently 13 different varieties I believe), here are a few of my current (very yummy!!) favourites:

Eat Natural Bars | The Belle Narrative Blog | UK lifestyle blog | UK lifestyle blogger
almond & apricot with a yoghurt coating: ‘A simple mix of juicy unsulphured apricots, crunchy almonds and coconuts, completely smothered in a smooth yoghurt coating.’ These are sweet and chewy and make for a healthier alternative to a chocolate bar:

dark chocolate with cranberries and macadamias: ‘A grown-up indulgent bar for those who love a sneaky bit of dark chocolate now and then. You’ll also discover a feast of coconut, brazils, macadamias and cranberries.’

Eat Natural dark chocolate with cranberries and macadamias coating | The Belle Narrative Blog | British lifestyle blog
These are pure heaven, particularly if you like dark chocolate! This flavour is normally the first to finish in our house - that's how delicious these bars are!

Eat Natural dark chocolate with cranberries and macadamias coating | The Belle Narrative Blog | British lifestyle blog
brazil & sultana with peanuts and almonds: ‘A bar simply stuffed with wholesome dried fruits and nuts. Juicy sultanas and apricots with almonds, peanuts and brazil nuts. Pretty straightforward...but also pretty special.’

Eat Natural brazil & sultana with peanuts and almonds | The Belle Narrative Blog | lifestyle blog

This bar is very filling – highly recommended for beating the mid-afternoon slump!

As mentioned earlier, these bars are great for taking on the go with you – that includes picnics!

Overall when it comes to healthy, natural food products that taste delicious then I personally vouch for Eat Natural - what can I say, I love this brand! Find out more at www.eatnatural.co.uk.

Secondly, a recent discovery:

Aduna

Aduna is an Africa-inspired health and beauty brand and social business. Their mission is to create demand for exceptional and underutilised natural super-ingredients sourced directly from small-scale producers in rural Africa – starting with two of the most nutrient-dense superfoods on the planet, baobab and moringa. The brand gets their baobab and moringa direct from small-scale producers in Ghana, and since Aduna is a social business, profits are put back into supporting their producers. I have to say that I really love this ethos! So not only is Aduna a great ethical business, but their products are pretty awesome too! I’m really interested in superfoods lately so have been trying out a few samples of Aduna’s superfood powders:

Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder & Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder | The Belle Narrative Blog | UK lifestyle blog | lifestyle blogger

Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder & Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder | The Belle Narrative Blog | UK lifestyle blog | lifestyle blogger
The orange packet contains Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder: “Aduna Baobab is a 100% natural, nutrient-dense, raw wholefood. It is a rich source of vitamin C, calcium, potassium and thiamin. It is also almost 50% fibre and has one of the highest antioxidant capacities of any fruit in the world.”

…it’s no wonder that Vivienne Westwood and Lily Cole are fans too! I love how easy to use the powder is:

Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder | The Belle Narrative Blog | lifestyle blog | lifestyle blogger
The green packet contains Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder: “One of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, Aduna Moringa is a 100% organic green superfood made from the naturally-dried leaf of the moringa tree.”

The health benefits are amazing:

“Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder is a natural multivitamin. It is a rich source of protein and has no less than thirteen essential vitamins and minerals at RDA levels, including iron, making it ideal for vegans and vegetarians. These nutrients combine to give it a wealth of health benefits, ranging from energy release to skin health.”

...once again the powder is very easy to use:

Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder | The Belle Narrative Blog | lifestyle blog | lifestyle blogger
These sachets are easy peasy to use - they're such an effortless way of incorporating some amazing superfoods into your diet!

…okay so I’m sold! I love the fact that both of these products are high sources of antioxidants so I’m definitely going to buy the bigger sized versions to see how I fare in the long run. These are top-selling products so I am very positive about the potential results - great looking skin and increased energy - bring it on!! Find Aduna online at www.aduna.com.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my current go-to ‘healthy’ brands – are you a fan of these brands or all things healthy too?!

Brand Spotlight | Spring Makeup Essentials with Cosmetics à la Carte

As a big beauty fanatic I love trying out different makeup brands, and lately one brand that I cannot stop raving about is Cosmetics à la Carte. Some of you will already know that I love their wonderful Rose Elixir (it has been keeping my skin all soft and supple for several months now! See my review here), but this was my first foray with their makeup – and all I can say is, why has it taken me so long to try this amazing makeup?!

Cosmetics à la Carte Review | Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger
For those unaware, Cosmetics à la Carte is a luxury British beauty brand who have been in the business for over 40 years, making, developing and designing their products right here in London. With a real commitment towards quality, the brand formulate their products using the finest ingredients and leading-edge cosmetic science - perhaps this is why Cosmetics à la Carte have such a cult following consisting of Hollywood icons and British royalty. Similarly, the brand is cherished by makeup artists - and as someone with professional makeup training under her belt, all I can say is that any brand/product worthy enough to be inside a makeup artist’s kit is worth knowing about!

After sampling a few of Cosmetics à la Carte’s makeup products for myself, I can genuinely see why this brand is so highly rated. These products are exceptional! The texture and formulation of everything that I tried was outstanding – nothing short of pure luxury really.

Speaking of luxury – I seem to have fallen in love with the brand's luxurious silver packaging:

Cosmetics à la Carte Review | Spring Summer Makeup | Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger
The luxe 'statement' packaging makes these products an ideal choice for gifting...although if luxurious makeup is your thing, then I say treat yourself to some bits too as this makeup is divine!

How to update your makeup bag for spring!

Now that the weather finally actually feels like spring, I thought it was time to share my favourite Cosmetics à la Carte spring makeup essentials with you:

Velvet Tint

Warmer weather means that during the day I have to touch-up my foundation more often than I would usually, which is why it is essential for me to have some sort of 'compact' handbag-friendly foundation on me. I tend to find that a a good quality cream-to-powder foundation works best for me, provided that the foundation has some sort of in-built mattifying properties - I'm a combination skin and who doesn't want to look fresh and flawless all day?! Luckily Cosmetics à la Carte have the very thing for me with their Velvet Tint cream-to-powder foundation.

Cosmetics à la Carte Velvet Tint cream-to-powder foundation | Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger
 Velvet Tint, £38 | Link

I’ve used a lot of great cream-to-powder foundations in the past, but this one blows them all out of the water. The coverage is amazing – in fact it’s so amazing that it allows me to skip concealer! I also really love the creamy high quality formula as it applies easily leaving me with a flawless smooth finish.

Cosmetics à la Carte Velvet Tint cream-to-powder foundation | Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger

Velvet Tint has buildable medium to high coverage, is long-wearing and feels light and comfortable on the skin…So what’s not to love really?! I tried out the shade Honey as pictured below. It’s a tad too dark for me but has been proving invaluable to me for use as a 'mixer' as it's the perfect shade for warming up my foundation. I will however be visiting the Cosmetics à la Carte boutique in Knightsbridge to get matched up to my correct shade as this foundation is a real keeper!

Here's a close-up of Honey:

Bare Blush Light

Now that the weather has finally got warmer, I decided that I wanted to channel the dewy cheeks that I saw on the SS15 runways at LFW. Once again, Cosmetics à la Carte have the right product for the job: Bare Blush Light. This gorgeous, gorgeous cream highlighter is so luxurious! It melts into your skin like butter! It is very highly pigmented, so go easy when applying it – you’ll be amazed at just how little product goes such a long way! This product leaves you with the most prettiest sheen so is perfect for special occasions (especially since it's long-wearing!) – I’ll be wearing it to an engagement party that I have this weekend!

Cosmetics à la Carte Bare Blush Light | cream highlighter | UK Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger
Bare Blush Light, £25 | Link

This cream highlighter gives a nice luminosity to the skin and and really helps give your face that much sought after glowy summer look. What’s more it’s really easy to apply – you just simply use your finger and gently dab it on as desired. For a gorgeous evening look I use it to illuminate my cheekbones, and as a little extra finishing touch, I also dab a bit onto my Cupid's bow.

Cosmetics à la Carte Bare Blush Light | cream highlighter | UK Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger
I have the shade Starlight as swatched below for you:

Cosmetics à la Carte Bare Blush Light | cream highlighter | UK Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger
Such a pretty shade isn't it?

Bare Blush Light cream highlighter is a cut above other similar premium/high-end products that I’ve tried in the past. Overall all I can say is that this is a gorgeous product that you need in your life!

Lastly I thought it was high time to put my beloved vampy, berry coloured lipstick away until next A/W,  and go for an updated spring look by opting for a lighter colour and sheerer formulation:

Moisture Plus Lipstick

This lipstick is such a treat! The creamy formula is enriched with vitamins A, C and E - as well as conditioning and protective natural oils and waxes to boot. These magical ingredient additions are very effective as this lipstick really does make your lips feel all pampered and cared for...and how luxe is the silver packaging?!

Cosmetics à la Carte Moisture Plus Lipstick | Cosmetics à la Carte Review | UK Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger

Moisture Plus Lipstick, £23 | Link

I have the shade Floribunda for a nice spring/summery pop of colour, and although it looks quite bold and bright in the tube, it actually applies quite sheerly. Sheer lipsticks are so pretty for spring and summer aren't they?! Yet despite the lipstick's sheerness it is nicely pigmented giving you great colour payoff. Overall verdict: Another winning formulation from Cosmetics à la Carte!

Here's a swatch of Floribunda for you - it's such a pretty colour:

Cosmetics à la Carte Moisture Plus Lipstick | Cosmetics à la Carte Review | UK Beauty Blog | UK Beauty Blogger

So those were my Cosmetics à la Carte spring makeup essentials that will be taking me well into summer, I hope you enjoyed hearing about them! I really love this brand and have seriously fallen in love with their luxurious formulations and stunning silver packaging! If you’ve not yet tried this brand then you really should ASAP – it’s possibly the best makeup that you’ll ever use!

Cosmetics à la Carte are also very well-known for their bespoke makeup service - I really love the fact that you can get your own bespoke foundation mixed up to match your own individual skin tone! Visit Cosmetics à la Carte online at: www.alacartelondon.com.

Have you tried the Cosmetics à la Carte brand before? What do you most like the sound of from the above?
